Fishing Tourism
28.04.2011

Uzbekistan opens the season of fishing tours

Indira Salimova
Fans of fishing have finally reached the April days when it is possible to perform the fish harvesting both in weight and number.  Well, it is time to take fishing tackles and move toward rivers and lakes of Uzbekistan for the trophy.
This is up to you what fish to catch, and hope for luck. Besides European carp, barbell, carp, asp, pikeperch, bream widely-spread in Uzbekistan there are species inherent in Central Asia such as marinka, snake-head, and others. The most patient tourists-anglers would be rewarded with fresh-water catfish of major size.
Group of tourists from Russia equipped with all necessary tackles go to grasp the secrets of fishing in Uzbekistan.
“Every year we gather with our friend and visit various countries for fishing. This year we decided to visit water basins of Uzbekistan. Weather is fine, I say. And, we hope for good take,” says Dmitriy Ivanov. “It is important to us that along with fishing to explore traditions and culture of other people, its peculiarities and enjoy new acquaintances with local fishers.”
Uzbekistan differs in fishing tours, fishing places, vehicles and even the number of days meant for it.
Fishing expedition for coast rainbow trout and tour for marinka are offered by the Company Oriental Express CA. Fishing is carried out in two ways – amateur – with road, and sportive – spinning with plug. Tourists go for trout to the shores of Ko’ksu River that flows in the territory of Ugam-Chotqol National Park. Journey to the Oq Buloq River is no less enthralling as well, where tourists can catch fair-sized marinka fish.
Sportive fishing on the lake Aydarko’l is offered by the Travel Agency Centralasia Advantures. Along with the fishing the tour program includes the excursion to legendary Samarqand and familiarization with its places of interest. Accommodating in yurt campus, camel riding and akyn singing are to bestow lots of impressions, not saying about the fascinating process of fishing.
The fishing tour “Catfish Passions at Aydarko’l Lake” and active fishing route “To Health and Not Only…” are provided by the Company ARK Holding. Besides the traditional fishing of catfish and rainbow trout, tourists are offered camel riding, retro jeep-safari, and journey to Sarmishsoy Canyon that is famous with rock paintings.
Fishing tours are not only masses of impressions from the fishing, enthralling fishers’ stories, and delicious meals prepared from the caught fishes, but the delight with bewitching nature landscapes that are mostly fascinating in spring season.
