Uzbekturizm national company urges Uzbekistan’s entrepreneurs to actively invest in tourism business

Firuza Akabirova, spokeswoman, Uzbekturizm

The managing board of the National Company Uzbekturizm at the meeting with entrepreneurs in Urganch urged Uzbekistan companies actively invest the tourism sector of Khorazm region.
During the meeting it was said that the region did not use in full the investment opportunities in tourism. Khorazm region with its sightseeing places attract amateurs of historical-cultural tourism from all across the globe. Inquisitive travelers come here to see ancient Khiva – “open air museum” and its ages-old architectural constructions Ichan-Kala, to step the land where, according to legends, the unique written monument Avesta – sacred book of Zoroastrians was created.
It is observed that lack of hotels and accommodations in the peak of tourist seasons is the constraint for the growth of foreign tourists. In the regard, it is planned this year the construction of four hotels along the main avenue of Urganch – Al-Khorazmiy Street. Small hotels decorated in special thematic style will offer comfortable conditions for tourists.
Local entrepreneurs get interested in this project. By the end of the meeting the organizers have received eight offers from representatives of small business and private entrepreneurship of Khorazm willing to invest to the construction of hotels. Representatives of commercial banks, participated in the meeting, also take the initiative, offering co-financing of projects on a long-term basis.
Currently, Uzbekturizm NC carries out marketing projects on prolonging the tourist season and days of stay of foreign tourists in Khorazm region. Thereafter, it is expected the increase of active income of hotels that makes this sphere attractive for investors. Investment directed to the development of tourism infrastructure will allow to involve more tourists to the region, and, correspondingly, will favor the creation of new job places in hotel, catering, transport and other spheres.
