TITF 2011. A great occasion for the Silk Road tourism

The forthcoming Tashkent International Tourism Fair “Tourism on the Great Silk Road”, organized by “Uzbektourism” National Company and exhibition company “TNT Expo” and scheduled for November 2nd to 4th, 2011, holds many surprises in store for the visitors.
For 17 years now the tourism fair held in the Uzbek capital has attracted the guests from all over the world, all those who aspire to establish partnership relations in tourism sphere, to present new tourist products and to conclude mutually beneficial agreements. For all the traditionality of this festive event, each Tashkent fair is unique and enticing, full of pleasant surprises and innovative ideas.
Following long existing tradition, TITF 2011 will be hosted in “Uzexpocentre” and will be accommodated in Pavilion 3 and 4, in atrium and on the picturesque banks of Bozcu canal. The exposition floor space of the fair is about 2000 square metres, whereas the fair total area is about 5000 square metres.
The diversity of tourist destinations of Uzbekistan will be presented at “Uzbekistan National pavilion” which will accommodate the stands of about 60 tourist enterprises from all the regions of the Republic. The journey through the pavilion will remind the tour round the country: each stand will display the region’s originality, its cultural and climatic peculiarities.
The “International pavilion” will accommodate the stands of 50 foreign tourist companies interested in expanding the business cooperation with Uzbek partners.
The territory adjacent to the exhibition pavilions will become the venue for real festivities, with performances of national singing and dancing. At “Festival of national cuisine” exposition the guests will have opportunity to savour aromatic dishes of Uzbek cuisine, whereas “Oriental bazaar” exposition will attract the visitors with the bright colours of autumn fruits and vegetables. At the “City of craftsmen” exposition the visitors will be able to delight in unsurpassed craftsmanship and elegance of applied art articles and even to buy them as souvenirs.
So far, besides the representatives of tourism industry of Uzbekistan, numerous companies from such countries as France, India, Czech Republic, UAE, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Israel, China, Turkey, Tajikistan, Thailand, and Jordan have confirmed their participation. Moreover, tourist companies from Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Latvia, Indonesia, Spain and others are supposed to participate in the fair.
The participants of TITF 2011 will virtually represent the whole structure of tourism market: tour operators and tour agents, big hotel chain complexes and small private hotels, sanatoriums and resorts, transport companies and air carriers, global booking companies and providers of tourism software and tourism services, museums, entertainment and recreation industry enterprises.
The general sponsor of TITF 2011 is Travel System company, which specializes in organization of tours to Czech Republic, France, Italy, Switzerland, Scandinavian countries, Benelux countries and Israel.
By decision of the event organizers, within the framework of TITF-2011 there will be held the first open contest of tourist photos “The Great Silk Road” and the competition “The best guide of Uzbekistan”.
Local and foreign photographers, professionals and amateurs alike, will be able to demonstrate their vision of the Silk Road heritage in four areas: architecture, culture, portrait and landscape. Competent jury, represented by well-known photographers and photo artists of Uzbekistan, will choose the winners in three nominations: “Discovery of the year”, “Photographer of the year”, and “Photo of the year”.
A timely and rather interesting “The best guide of Uzbekistan” competition will help to choose the professional in guiding activities on the basis of requirements set by national tourism administration, tourism business and foreign visitors.
In the framework of the event organization there will be published “Catalogue of the participants of the 17th Tashkent International Tourism Fair”, which is believed to facilitate the work during the TITF.
There will be created favourable working conditions for effective operation of mass media representatives. During the event, on the territory of “Uzexpocentre” there will be functioning Press-centre fitted up with all necessary equipment.
It should be noted that TITF has acquired status of one of the major Central Asian tourism events which offers a specific tourist product – cultural and active tours to countries that in the ancient times hosted the trails of the Great Silk Road.
This fact explains the inclusion of TITF in the list of the most important international tourism events which are held under the aegis of United Nation World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO)
Tashkent International Tourism Fair is the biggest meeting place for the professionals of Uzbek and international travel and tourism businesses that pursue the common goal of improving and developing the industry by enhancing business partnership; hence national tourism administrations of the Silk Road countries, tour operators, tour agents, representatives of hospitality business, and enterprises presenting modern technologies in tourism sphere actively participate in this significant event. It is expected that this year’s fair will be attended by representatives of more than 500 foreign tourist companies and more than 100 foreign journalists involved in covering tourism issues.
