The first round of the 1st International tournament dedicated to the memory of Bahouddin Naqshband for the “prize of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan” for kurash fights in Bukhara started.
In the international tournament, the number of participants of the tournament amounted to 135 people, with about 20 countries visiting famous wrestlers. 95 from foreign countries, 26 from different regions, 14 from Bukhara region.
Initially, the fans witnessed an intense competition between 52 kg girls – Mukhlisa Muhammadiyeva and Ozoda Nurmatova, as well as 66 kg men – Chori Zoirov and Abror Jabbarov.
According to the final results, Gulnora Suleymanova from Uzbekistan took the 1st place in the competition among girls weighing 52 kg. The second place was given to the representative of the Chinese Taipei Soo Hea Weng. Another compatriot, Aysulu Majidova and Eliza Abdukaderova from Kyrgyzstan, was awarded the 3rd place.
In the competitions between wrestlers weighing 60 kg, Chori Zoyirov of Uzbekistan – 1, Amankhan Oskenbayev of qozog'istan - 2, Chakmar Merajiddin of Afghanistan and Furqat Ma'rufjonov of Uzbekistan – 3 took place.
In addition, the well-known palvan Ja'far Feruzobodiy, who visited from Iran in 66 kg weight category competitions, was found worthy of the 1st place. 2nd place was given to Mirjon Durayev from Uzbekistan. Shuabmuhammad Yusuf from Afghanistan and Qabiljon Ahmedov from Uzbekistan took the 3rd place.
The fight, which took place for 90 kg of weight, was full of intense impressions. In it, Shermuhammad Jandriyev won the 1st place and defended the Honor of Uzbekistan. Jamalbek Asilbek Oglu of Kyrgyzstan-2, Nurislom Idrisov from Uzbekistan and Muhammadali Shamsidinov occupied 3rd place.
At the 100 kg weight category wrestlers competition, Erkin Doniyorov from Bukhara defeated Iranian Hamed Rashidi in the decisive final bout and won the gold medal. The 3rd place was occupied by Uzbek Elbek Abdullaev and Almaz Shakarov from Kazakhstan.
It is worth to note that such international competitions are important not only in the development of sports, but also in the development of sports tourism in Uzbekistan.
